About the Journal

REACH Journal is the Journal of Inclusive Education in Ireland. Established in 1986 by the Irish Association of Teachers in Special Education (IATSE), REACH is an independent journal that disseminates reliable, high quality, peer-reviewed information, research and good practice to a readership that includes practitioners in education as well as related professionals, parents and policy makers. It acts as a resource for teachers and other professionals working with learners with a diverse range of abilities along a continuum of need. Special education, as per government policy, is examined through the publication of articles reflecting research findings, good practice and national and international perspectives.

Call for Papers / Gairm ar Pháipéir - Special Issue / Eagrán Speisialta: Inclusion in Irish-medium and Gaeltacht education / Ionchuimsitheacht san oideachas lán-Ghaeilge agus Gaeltachta

The REACH Journal of Inclusive Education in Ireland plans to publish a special issue on inclusion in Irish-medium and Gaeltacht education. It will focus particularly on meeting the needs of students from diverse linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds and those with learning differences. There have been significant developments in this area over the last decade, including the growth of a robust research base. The publication of the Policy for Gaeltacht Education 2017-22, as well as the current development of the Policy for Irish-medium Education Outside the Gaeltacht, have led to more thought and discussion around the inclusion of all students in Irish-medium education.
